MILA KODRIČ CIZERL: J+J
The poetics of Mila Kodrič Cizerl are marked by cruel but beautiful images in epically long poems. In her debut, J + J, she embarks on a courageous journey of searching for love in a world that boils unstoppably. Through the story of Jesus and his lover, she, in a brutally sensitive style, poeticizes an intimate relationship to Christianity and queer love in the 21st century, while uncompromisingly underlining the necessity of all forms of love – as fundamental cosmic forces and values. The book explores the characters of two people who want to belong to each other’s world but cannot, which creates agony and longing between them. With Jovana Đukić (Studio Jota), we explored the concept through analogous research of the forces of the magnetic field. Through experiments, the cover was born.
